My heart goes to...

Some people I love, some places I went to, days I had a lot of fun.

Having fun at Du's place. Beer + talk + catching up with old friends. And then you ask me what else I want from life? I guess I can do with that.
What are some things that make you happy too?

The chef in me.

So yesterday I decided to cook for my girlfriends.
I ran down by the supermarket and bought a million things and ended up cooking three or four different dishes. It was a really pleasant evening with the great company of my granny.
Menu:
Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies
Scones with either Jam or Peanut Butter
Petit Gateau
Pastéis (this is a Brazilian dish)
Orange Juice
Pinapple Juice

After this food orgy, we decided the best thing to do was to watch some chick flick at the movies and we ended up seeing "Friends With Benefits". It is such a cool movie and the chemistry between Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake is so great we're actually dreaming of seeing both of them together in real life! (Silly girls)
But, not only of food and cheap movies is a girl's night out made. We ended our night by having some beer in a very nice pub. It was about to close, but we had time to drink a couple of beers and talk about our frustrated love lives.

It ended up being really nice. Just hope we can do it again soon.

By the way, it's a long holiday in my city: 342 years. That is amazing, eh? (Best thing is not having to work on a Monday.. gotta love Brazil)

weekly update.

* So, Dad is still in the hospital. I can't put into words the way I'm feeling right now. all I can say is I'd trade places with him so I could be there.. going through all the pain rather than having to see my beloved daddy that vulnerable. Spent the weekend with him. Didn't get any sleep and I feel like 100 trucks had run over me. To top it all, it's father's day in Brazil. It was the saddest father's day ever. I'm pretty sure he'll be fine in no time, though. All my prayers to my dad.

* You know when you don't feel like having fun, like going out.. that's exactly how I've been feeling lately.

* On Thursday I went out with Clauder. It was a very nice and pleasant evening. We finally had the chance to talk, to drink some beer (a horrible one, btw) and to dance some samba. One of these week's highlights.

*  On Friday I went to my friend Rabeca's Baby Shower. I'm so excited we're soon getting to know Cecília! Oh, and it was a double baby shower. My great friend Arielli, who is anxiously waiting for Pedro to arrive, was also there to party! It was a fun evening, and even though I was reaally tired, I enjoyed every minute of it. I also got the chance to see my friends - I was really happy to see Will.. after a lonnnng, long time! and we got to take the pics on this post.

* Now I'm home and I'll try to get some sleep. Have a good week y'all.

Highlights from my last trip to São Paulo - Brazil: 1. Mercado Municipal - one of the best markets I've ever been to - I have a thing for markets!; 2. Demônios da Garoa - the oldest samba group in the world (you can check the Guiness Book!) - one of the best concerts I've ever been to!; 3. Campos do Jordão - lovely city. It's an hour drive from São Paulo - you can try the best fondues ever + delicious beer (see photo 5); 4. a snapshot from Campos; 5. Baden Baden - this is just DELICIOUS!; 6. Sunset at Campos: amazing view!

I thought this was a good way to start blogging! There's more to come!
